Cheers Over California Hot Air Balloon Team is based in Sacramento, California and we do most of our local ballooning, including rides, tether operations, high visibility corporate marketing events and more in the surrounding Northern California communities of Marysville, Lincoln, Lodi and Woodland. We also travel frequently to special events throughout California and also to Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon.

Cheers Over California is the Northern California balloon program operator for RE/MAX of California and Hawaii. What makes us a Team? It's not at all about competition. Hot air balloons require more than just one pilot and a few passengers to fly. We need several additional crew members to help set up and inflate, chase and pack up the balloon after the flight. The pilot needs the crew to get in the air and the crew needs the pilot to provide the balloon. The better we are as a team...the more fun we have.

What's in a name? Early French balloonists carried fine champagne as a gift to local citizens who thought the huge, smoking objects descending from the sky must surely be demons and set out after them with pitchforks. The pilot would lower the bottle to the angry hoards below and offer a toast in exchange for safe landing privileges. Because of this, ballooning became known as the "Champagne Sport." To this day, the tradition lives on and balloonists still carry a bottle of Champagne as a gift to friendly landowners. We celebrate this tradition with every flight and offer a toast to all who see our "Cheers" balloons and share in the joy they bring.
